Polaroid Play Workshop

This hands-on Polaroid workshop focuses on using instant film as a creative material—no cameras required. Participants will explore how to transform Polaroid film into unique, tactile artworks, working directly with the material in experimental and imaginative ways.You’ll begin by learning how to handle and install Polaroid film safely, gaining an understanding of its structure and creative potential. From there, the workshop moves into a series of artistic processes, including embroidery and painting onto Polaroid surfaces, where mediums are used to add texture, pattern, and personal storytelling.We’ll also explore how to create transparencies from Polaroid film, opening up possibilities for layering, light-based work, and mixed media experimentation. If time allows, participants will be introduced to Polaroid emulsion lifts—a delicate technique that involves separating the image layer and repositioning it onto new surfaces for beautifully organic results.This workshop is ideal for artists, makers, and curious beginners alike, offering a playful and exploratory approach to working with instant film as a medium in its own right.
